TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers earned a big win over Elmhurst in the first game of their doubleheader with a final score of 15-4 after seven innings. This improves the team to 4-6 overall this season.
The second game of the doubleheader was delayed in the bottom of the third inning due to weather with Rose-Hulman ahead 6-3. The game will resume on Sunday, March 16, at 11 AM followed by the originally scheduled contest, starting at approximately 1:30 PM.Â
Peter Rogers was the standout for the Fightin' Engineers in the team's win over the Blue Jays. Rogers finished the game going 4-5 at the plate with two runs scored and 1 RBI.Â
Connor O'Connell also made an impact at the plate going 3-4 with three runs scored and three RBIs.Â
After being down 2-1, Rose-Hulman exploded offensively in the bottom of the third inning, putting up six runs to jump to a commanding lead.Â
The Fightin' Engineers continued to extend their lead with
Caleb Frakes,
Jackson Summers, and O'Connell recording home runs in the bottom of the sixth to put the game out of reach.Â
Camden Judson earned the win on the mound pitching 6.0 innings with three strikeouts.Â
The team will continue their delayed game in the bottom of the third inning tomorrow at 11 AM followed by the originally scheduled game set to begin at approximately 1:30 PM.Â
