GREENCASTLE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers baseball team suffered a narrow loss to DePauw with a final score of 6-5. This drops the team to 17-15 overall this season.
Rose-Hulman scored first, after a passed ball by the Tigers brought in a run by
Tyler Otroszko in the first inning.
After two runs by DePauw, Rose-Hulman took back the lead, scoring runs in the second and fourth innings to make the score 3-2.
DePauw tied the game in the fourth at 3-3, before
Jonathan Oliger hit a sacrifice fly in the fifth to bring in a run by
Colton Brown to make the score 4-3.
The Tigers jumped back in front, scoring three runs across the fifth and seventh innings to make the score 6-4. Rose-Hulman had a chance, but their comeback attempt came up short.
Peter Rogers led the team at the plate, going 2-5 with one run scored and one RBI.
The Rose-Hulman baseball team will return to conference play, traveling to take on Anderson on Saturday, April 26, at 1 PM and 4 PM.
