ANDERSON, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers split their doubleheader against Anderson on Saturday, winning game one 7-2 and falling in game two 12-0. This moves the team to 18-16 overall and 11-7 in the HCAC.
The Fightin' Engineers came out strong in the first game of the day. The team jumped to a 5-0 lead after the sixth inning.
Anderson got on the board with a run in the sixth, but Rose-Hulman controlled the game, adding two more runs in the ninth to secure the win.
Brady Strawmyer was exceptional on the mound, pitching 8.0 innings with eight strikeouts while only allowing two earned runs.
Tyler Otroszko led the team at the plate, going 2-4 with two runs and two RBIs.
Anderson came out swinging in the second game of the doubleheader to avoid the doubleheader sweep.
The Ravens out-hit the Fightin' Engieners 12-5 in the contest and came away with the win after seven innings.
Brad Nardi suffered the loss on the mound, pitching 2.2 innings with one strikeout.
Mason Rasmussen highlighted the team at the plate finishing 3-3 on the day.
Rose-Hulman will return to action tomorrow, Sunday, April 27, as they wrap up their weekend series with Anderson at 12 PM.
