TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman baseball team suffered a narrow loss to DePauw on Wednesday night with a final score of 4-2. This drops the team to 11-12 overall this season.
DePauw got off to a strong start, jumping to a 3-0 lead at the end of the first inning. The Tigers added another run in the third inning to extend their lead to 4-0.
Rose-Hulman got on the board after a double by
Peter Rogers brought in a run by
Joe Nevle.
The Fightin' Engineers decreased the deficit in the sixth inning after a single by
Connor O'Connell brought in a run by Rogers.
Rose-Hulman was unable to complete the comeback and suffered the loss to the Tigers 4-2.
Mark Serdinak, O'Connell, and Nevle all led the team at the plate, going 2-4 on the night.
Alec Lewandowski suffered the loss on the mound, pitching 2.0 innings.
Rose-Hulman will return to conference play, traveling to take on Bluffton on Saturday, April 12, at 12 PM and 3 PM.
