TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers suffered a loss to start their weekend series against Transylvania on Friday night with a final score of 13-2. This drops the team to 20-17 overall and 12-8 in the HCAC.
Transylvania took the early lead with three runs in the second inning. Rose-Hulman answered with two runs across the second and fourth innings to cut the lead to 3-2 with runs by
Colton Brown and
Mark Serdinak.
Transylvania took control of the game after that, putting up 10 runs across the sixth and eighth innings to defeat the Fightin' Engineers after eight innings.
Tyler Otroszko led the team, going 3-4 at the plate.
Brady Strawmyer suffered the loss on the mound, pitching 6.0 innings with four strikeouts.
Rose-Hulman will continue their weekend series against Transylvania tomorrow, Saturday, May 3, in a doubleheader at 11 AM and 2 PM. The team will celebrate Senior Day before game one at 10:35 AM.
