KOKOMO, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers baseball team suffered their first loss of the HCAC Tournament to the Anderson Ravens with a final score of 6-2. The loss drops the team to 23-18 overall this season.
Rose-Hulman got on the board early with runs by
Tyler Otroszko and
Peter Rogers in the top of the first. Anderson answered with a run of their own in the bottom of the first.
The game turned into a pitcher's duel after that. The score remained 2-1 heading into the seventh inning. The Ravens were able to get a run around to tie the game at 2-2 in the bottom of the seventh.
The Ravens took the lead for good in the bottom of the eighth inning with four runs to defeat the Fightin' Engineers with a final score of 6-2.
Brady Strawmyer had an impressive night on the mound, pitching 7.0 innings with seven strikeouts.
Rose-Hulman will continue HCAC Tournament play, facing Mount St. Joseph on Friday, May 9, at 1:15 PM.
