TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- College Sports Communicators (CSC) has announced the Academic All-America honorees for the sport of baseball. Rose-Hulman star Connor O'Connell has earned CSC Second Team Academic All-American.

The junior biomedical engineering major holds a perfect 4.0 GPA and was a key contributor for the Fightin' Engineers this season. O'Connell led the team with a .363 batting average, totaling 29 runs scored, 61 hits, 13 doubles, three triples, six home runs, 40 RBIs, and an on-base percentage of .445. O'Connell currently ranks 14th in the school record book with 109 career RBIs and 14th in career doubles with 37.

The Fort Myers, Florida, native adds to his countless accolades this season. He was named Second Team All-Region by D3baseball.com and Third Team All-Region by ABCA/Rawlings. O'Connell also claimed First Team All-Conference from the HCAC this season.

O'Connell becomes the 153rd student-athlete and only the 21st baseball player to earn Academic All-America status in Rose-Hulman school history. The honor continues the rich history of Academic All-Americans, with Rose-Hulman's streak standing at 40 consecutive calendar years with at least one honoree.
