Rose-Hulman Leads off Season at Russ Matt Invitational

ORLANDO, Fla. – Rose-Hulman opens the 2026 season at the Russ Matt Invitational in Orlando, Florida. The Fightin' Engineers will play six games, including one doubleheader, which will take place on Saturday, February 28, through Wednesday, March 4. None of the games will be live-streamed, but there will be live stats for every game.

ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* The Fightin' Engineers recorded a 23-19 overall record last season.
* The team posted a 14-8 conference record to finish third in the HCAC.
* Rose-Hulman achieved a 3-2 victory over Franklin in the opening round of the HCAC Tournament.
* Senior Connor O'Connell is set to lead the Fightin' Engineers as he was named a First-Team All-HCAC and Second-Team All-Region honoree in 2025.
* O'Connell started in all 42 games, where he recorded team-highs with a .363 batting average, 61 hits, six home runs, and 40 RBIs.
* He scored 29 runs, while adding 13 doubles and three triples.
* Sophomore Jackson Harms was named to the All-HCAC Second Team in 2025.
* Harms recorded a .330 batting average, scoring 20 runs on 32 hits.
* He added four doubles, two home runs, and 23 RBIs.
* Senior Mason Rasmussen hauled in Honorable Mention All-HCAC honors last season.
* Rasmussen posted a .319 batting average with 51 hits and 29 runs.
* He hit 13 doubles, two home runs, and 29 RBIs.
* Junior Jackson Summers recorded a .266 batting average with 38 hits and 27 runs.
* He added eight doubles, while hitting four home runs and 16 RBIs.
* Junior Brad Nardi leads all returners with 38 strikeouts across 47.2 innings pitched.
* Nardi pitched a season-high six strikeouts against Berea.
* Sophomore Liam Richardson posted a team-best 2.37 ERA with a perfect 2-0 record.
* Richardson pitched 27 strikeouts across 30 innings, while giving up a .248 batting average against.

VERMONT STATE-CASTLETON NOTES:
* The Spartans posted a 13-25 overall record with a 4-12 conference mark last season.
* Junior Tommie Shaw recorded a .270 batting average with 34 hits and 20 runs.
* Junior Mikey Raby Jr. added a .243 average at the plate with 27 hits and 26 runs.

ANNA MARIA NOTES:
* The Amcats are coming off an 18-21 season where they went 7-9 in conference play.
* Junior Jonathan Guardascione hit a team-high .435 batting average with 40 hits and 13 runs.
* He added nine doubles, three home runs, and a team-leading 33 RBIs.
* Junior Andrew Denison hit a .327 batting average with 34 hits and 21 runs.
 
MARIAN NOTES:
* The Sabres are coming off a 22-21 season where the team went 14-10 in conference action.
* Junior Marc Jones posted a .264 batting average, where he leads all returners with 39 hits and 21 runs.
* Jones also recorded 12 doubles, one triple, two home runs and 33 RBIs.
* Sophomore Blake Griesbach recorded a 2-1 record on the mound with a 3.74 ERA and .234 batting average against.
 
SAINT MARY'S NOTES:
* The Cardinals recorded a 22-16 mark, with a 13-7 conference record last year.
* Senior Stephen Golden hit a team-leading .413 batting average, adding 33 hits and 20 runs.
* Golden recorded a team-high ten doubles and a total of 15 RBIs.
* Senior Josh Costello recorded a .343 average at the plate with 39 hits, 17 runs, and 19 RBIs.
 
ALLEGHENY NOTES:
* The Gators recorded a near-identical record as Saint Mary's, going 22-18 overall with a 13-7 conference mark.
* Junior Tyler Skaggs leads all returners with a .333 batting average, 38 hits, and 30 runs.
* Skaggs added eight doubles, five home runs, and 21 RBIs.
* Sophomore Liam Irving added a .297 average at the plate with 27 hits, 20 runs, and 18 RBIs.
