Volleyball Travels to Compete in Illinois Wesleyan Classic

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman volleyball team will travel this weekend to compete in the Illinois Wesleyan Classic on Friday, September 19, and Saturday, September 20. 

ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman stands at 9-1 overall this season after suffering their first loss of the year against DePauw on Wednesday with a final score of 3-0. 
* The Fightin' Engineers started the season at 9-0, a feat that matches the best start in program history during the 2010 season. 
* Rose-Hulman is currently receiving votes in the AVCA Top 25 Poll, sitting in 38th with 17 points.
Greta Carlson leads the team with 116 kills this season, averaging 3.63 kills per set. 
Keira Ohse is another standout for the Fightin' Engineers with 89 kills and a team-high .421 hitting percentage. Her hitting percentage also leads the HCAC and ranks 11th in all of NCAA DIII.
Julia Irmen leads the team and the conference with 10.52 assists per set, which ranks eighth in all of NCAA DIII. 
Lily Ebright is the star defensively with 194 digs and 5.88 digs per set. 
* The Fightin' Engineers have been picked to finish sixth in the 2025 HCAC Preseason Poll, receiving 40 points. 
* The team returns three HCAC All-Conference players, including Lily EbrightAmaya Harrell, and Keira Ohse.
* Ebright is the team's top returner after earning Defensive Player of the Year for the third consecutive season last year. 
* The team is led by Rachel Delsi, entering her eighth year at the helm of the program. 
* After competing in the Illinois Wesleyan Classic, Rose-Hulman will return home to host Blackburn on Wednesday, September 24, at 7 PM. 

(RV) COE NOTES:
* Coe enters the weekend at 7-2 overall. 
* The team is currently receiving votes in the AVCA Top 25 Poll, ranking 30th with 31 points. 
* The Kohawks are coming off a loss to Gustavus Adolphus with a score of 3-1. 
* Maggie Furlong leads the team with 110 kills this season, averaging 3.14 kills per set. 
* Kelsey Hansel is another standout hitter with 108 kills this season, averaging 3.27 kills per set. 
* The team has two players in triple figures in digs, including Bella Rio with 126 (3.60 avg.) and Maddy Maahs with 102 (2.91 avg.).
* After competing in the IWU Classic, Coe will travel to take on the University of Dubuque on Wednesday, September 24, at 6 PM. 

COE SERIES HISTORY:
* Rose-Hulman trails in the all-time series against Coe with a record of 0-3 against the Kohawks.
* The last time both teams faced off was during the 2019 season, with Coe earning the win 3-0. 
* The other two times both teams played were during the 2016 and 2000 seasons. 

#10 ILLINOIS WESLEYAN NOTES:
* The Titans are undefeated this season with a record of 8-0 to start the year.
* The team is currently ranked 10th in the AVCA Top 25 Poll.
* Illinois Wesleyan has recorded seven sweeps in a row, coming off a win over Wheaton in their last match. 
* Taylor French leads the team with 98 kills this season, averaging 3.77 kills per set. 
* Alex Bardouniotis is another standout hitter with 80 kills this season.
* Kannyn Boyd is the team's top defender with a team-high 96 digs, averaging 4.36 digs per set. 
* After competing in their home tournament, IWU will host Elmhurst on Wednesday, September 24, at 7 PM.

ILLINOIS WESLEYAN SERIES HISTORY:
* Rose-Hulman trails in the all-time series against IWU with a record of 4-7 against the Titans. 
* IWU defeated Rose-Hulman in their last meeting during the 2022 season with a score of 3-1.
* The last time Rose-Hulman defeated IWU was in 2021 with a final score of 3-0.

* Wittenberg stands at 5-4 overall this season. 
* The team has won their last four matches, most recently defeating Baldwin Wallace with a final score of 3-0.
* Wittenberg is receiving votes in the AVCA Top 25 Poll, ranking 45th with 4 points. 
* The Tigers are led by Kaili Worcester with 111 kills, averaging 2.92 kills per set.
* Alana Bartulovic is another standout with 74 kills this season. 
* Ally White is the top defensive performer for Wittenberg, totaling 167 digs and averaging 4.39 digs per set.
