TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Senior defender Aidan Kriek has garnered the HCAC Defensive Player of the Week Award, for the second time this season.
 
The Fightin' Engineers have now won the HCAC Defensive Player of the Week Award all four times this season, with Kriek and freshman goalkeeper Justin Burns each receiving the award twice.
 
RHIT opened the week with a 3-1 victory over St. Mary-of-the-Woods, before tying #11 Ohio Northern 1-1.
 
Kriek appeared in all 90 minutes of both games, extending his streak to six-consecutive games where he has played the entire match.
 
The New Orleans, La. native scored the opening goal in Rose's victory over St. Mary-of-the-Woods, firing a shot into the back of the net off a 24^th minute corner kick.
 
Kriek also led a Fightin' Engineers defensive line that did not allow a single shot in the first half against St. Mary-of-the-Woods.
 
In the following match against Ohio Northern, Rose-Hulman's defense allowed just two shots on goal, which was key to RHIT tying the #11-ranked team in the country.
 
The mechanical engineering major will look to extend Rose-Hulman's unbeaten streak to four in their conference opener, as the Fightin' Engineers host Berea on Saturday, September 27 at 3:30 PM.
