Volleyball Returns Home to Host Blackburn Wednesday Night

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman volleyball team will return home to host Blackburn on Wednesday, September 24, at 7 PM. 

ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman stands at 9-4 overall this season after dropping their last four matches against some of the best teams in the country. 
* The team traveled to the Illinois Wesleyan Invitational, where they faced Wittenberg and Coe, who are both receiving votes, and Illinois Wesleyan, which is ranked #10 in the country. 
Greta Carlson leads the team with 153 kills this season, averaging 3.64 kills per set. 
Keira Ohse is another standout for the Fightin' Engineers with 108 kills and a team-high .369 hitting percentage. Her hitting percentage ranks second in the HCAC so far this year.
Julia Irmen leads the team and the conference with 10.37 assists per set, which ranks ninth in all of NCAA DIII. 
Lily Ebright is the star defensively with 256 digs and 5.95 digs per set. Her digs per set average leads the conference and ranks 10th in NCAA DIII. 
* The Fightin' Engineers have been picked to finish sixth in the 2025 HCAC Preseason Poll, receiving 40 points. 
* The team returns three HCAC All-Conference players, including Lily EbrightAmaya Harrell, and Keira Ohse.
* Ebright is the team's top returner after earning Defensive Player of the Year for the third consecutive season last year. 
* The team is led by Rachel Delsi, entering her eighth year at the helm of the program. 
* After facing Blackburn, Rose-Hulman will travel to compete in the UW-Whitewater Invitational. The team will begin the invite, facing Illinois College on Friday, September 26, at 7 PM CT.

BLACKBURN NOTES:
* Blackburn stands at 5-7 overall and 1-1 in the SLIAC so far this season. 
* The team comes off a win over Webster with a final score of 3-2. 
* Payton Moeglin leads the team with 71 kills this season, averaging 1.73 kills per set. 
* Rean Ward has also made an impact with 69 kills and 1.73 kills per set. 
* Elexus Frey is the top defender for the Beavers with 141 digs this season, averaging 3.36 digs per set. 
* The team is led by Head Coach Shannon Bishop in her second season with the Beavers. 
* After facing Rose-Hulman, Blackburn will host Westminster (Mo.) on Saturday, September 27, at 12 PM CT. 

BLACKBURN SERIES HISTORY:
* Rose-Hulman leads the all-time series between both teams with a record of 8-1 against the Beavers.
* The Fightin' Engineers have won seven straight matches against Blackburn dating back to the 2001 season.
* The last time both teams met was during the 2021 season, when Rose-Hulman defeated the Beavers 3-1.
* Rose-Hulman is undefeated when hosting Blackburn with an all-time home record of 6-0.
