Volleyball Gears Up for HCAC Opener on Homecoming Against Transylvania

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman volleyball team will host their HCAC Opener against Transylvania on Saturday, October 4, at 11 AM, for homecoming weekend. 

ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman stands at 11-6 overall this year after going 1-2 at the UW-Whitewater Invitational with a win over Illinois College. 
Greta Carlson leads the team with 197 kills this season, averaging 3.52 kills per set. 
Keira Ohse is another standout for the Fightin' Engineers with 148 kills and a team-high .361 hitting percentage. 
Julia Irmen leads the team and the conference with 10.40 assists per set, which ranks 7th in all of NCAA DIII. 
Lily Ebright is the star defensively with 340 digs and 5.96 digs per set. Her digs per set average leads the conference and ranks 7th in NCAA DIII. 
* The Fightin' Engineers have been picked to finish sixth in the 2025 HCAC Preseason Poll, receiving 40 points. 
* The team returns three HCAC All-Conference players, including Lily EbrightAmaya Harrell, and Keira Ohse.
* Ebright is the team's top returner after earning Defensive Player of the Year for the third consecutive season last year. 
* The team is led by Rachel Delsi, entering her eighth year at the helm of the program. 
* After hosting Transylvania, Rose-Hulman will hit the road to face Greenville on Wednesday, October 8, at 6 PM CT.

TRANSYLVANIA NOTES:
* Transylvania stands at 12-5 overall this season.
* The Pioneers come off a win over Ohio Northern with a final score of 3-1.
* The team is led by Isabella Myers with 231 kills, averaging 4.13 kills per set. 
* Another standout on offense is Addie Atcher, who has totaled 149 kills this season with 2.66 kills per set. 
* Macy Lentz has been another top performer, setting her teammates up with a team-high 549 assists. 
* On the defensive side of the net, Julia Brown leads the team with 224 digs, averaging 4.23 digs per set. 
* Transylvania has been picked to win the conference in the HCAC Preseason Poll with 81 points and nine first-place votes. 
* The team is led by Head Coach Amy Barmore in her eighth season with the Pioneers. 
* After facing Rose-Hulman, Transy will host Spalding on Wednesday, October 8, at 7 PM. 

TRANSYLVANIA SERIES HISTORY:
* Rose-Hulman trails the all-time series between both teams with a record of 13-15 against the Pioneers. 
* The Fightin' Engineers have lost the last nine matches against Transylvania dating back to the 2019 season. 
* The last time Rose-Hulman defeated Transylvania was during the 2018 season with a score of 3-1. 
*The Fightin' Engineers all-time home record is 7-4 when hosting Transylvania.
