LEXINGTON, Ky. – Rose-Hulman was unable to take down the #1-seed in the HCAC, as the Transylvania Pioneers won by a score of 76-48.
The Pioneers shot 41.4% from the floor, outshooting Rose-Hulman who shot 36.0% overall. The Pioneers were also able to take advantage of drawn fouls, where the team shot 21-25 (84.0%) at the free throw line.
The Fightin' Engineers were able to thrive in the paint, as 24 of their points were scored at the basket.
Katelyn Fennell scored a team-high 13 points on 5-11 shooting. She hauled in four rebounds, while adding one assist and one steal.
Kaia Peterson dropped 12 points off the bench, while adding two rebounds. She shot 4-7 from the floor and a perfect 4-4 at the charity stripe.
Sophia Reese put up nine points, shooting 4-9 from the floor and 1-1 from three-point range. She added two assists and recorded a team-high two steals.
Anaya Hawkins recorded five points, with team-highs of five rebounds and two blocks.
Rose-Hulman will stay on the road as they face Hanover on Wednesday, January 14, at 7 PM.
