ORLANDO, Fla. – The Fightin' Engineers knocked off the Anna Maria Amcats on day two of the Russ Matt Invitational by a score of 10-6.
Junior
Camden Judson got off to a hot start on the mound, as he struck out the first two batters he faced.

Jackson Summers led off the bottom of the first by making it to first on a walk. Two batters later, senior
Connor O'Connell hit a triple way out to the center field wall, bringing Summers home for the first run of the game. Senior
Mason Rasmussen would also reach first as he was hit by a pitch on the following at bat. Sophomore
TJ Pipkins would then hit a triple off his own against the right center field wall, where he picked up two RBIs to extend the lead to 3-0.
Judson would lead off the second by picking up another strikeout, and he closed out the third by striking out another batter who went down swinging.
With two outs at the bottom of the third, Pipkins recorded another hit as he singled to shortstop. Pipkins would quickly steal second, and he scored a run on freshman
Michael Hines' RBI single up the middle.
The Amcats would put two on atop the fourth due to a pair of walks. They would score their first run of the game with an RBI single to right field, before a sacrifice fly cut the lead to 4-2. With two outs and a runner on first, Evan Dumeny hit a home run over the left field wall, which tied the game at four runs apiece.
Sophomore
Issei Takahashi recorded a single down the middle during the first at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. The Fightin' Engineers were able to load the bases with a pair of walks, and Takahashi was able to put Rose-Hulman back in the lead as he scored on a wild pitch. Rose-Hulman would secure two more walks in a row, which brought Harms home to make it a 6-4 game.
O'Connell was walked to start the bottom of the sixth, and he advanced into scoring position following a balk. Faced with two outs, Hines hit an RBI single to left-center field as O'Connell scored on the play. Sophomore
Sam Erickson followed that up with a stand-up double to deep left-center field, which brought Hines home. Sophomore
Noah Rasmussen extended the lead to 9-4, as he hit a line drive single to center field to bring Erickson home as well.
Anna Maria was able to load the bases at the top of the seventh, highlighted by back-to-back singles. They cut the lead to 9-6 with a two-RBI single from Brady Aylward, but sophomore
Alex Powers closed out the inning with a strikeout to keep RHIT in the lead.
The Fightin' Engineers would extend the lead to 10-6, as Hines scored his second run of the game, which occurred during a double play. Rose-Hulman was able to respond with a double play of their own to close out the game, as Hines caught a line drive to shortstop, where he picked off the runner at second for the final out.
Judson hauled in the victory on the mound, where he struck out six batters across six innings pitched.
Rose-Hulman will look to improve to 4-0 as they face the Marian Sabres on Monday, March 2. The game will begin at 10 AM on Field 1 at the Northeast Regional Park.
