Men's Tennis Hosts Transylvania in HCAC Showdown Saturday

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers men's tennis team will host Transylvania on Saturday, April 4, at 2 PM in HCAC action. The match will be played at the Terre Haute Tennis & Pickleball Center due to incoming weather. 

ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* The team stands at 8-7 overall and 2-0 in the HCAC this season.
* The Fightin' Engineers come off a narrow loss to Wabash on Sunday with a final score of 4-3.
* Ephraim Guthrie leads the team in singles play with 13 wins on the season. 
* Ervin Perkowski follows him with nine singles wins on the year. 
* Perkowski is the top doubles player for the Fightin' Engineers with 11 wins. 
* The best double team this season has been Perkowski and Eli McIntyre, with a record of 9-4. 
* The Fightin' Engineers were picked as the favorites to win the HCAC this season, earning 42 points and seven first-place votes.
* Rose-Hulman has won the HCAC Title the past two seasons, going undefeated in HCAC play both years.
Tim Eckermann and Ervin Perkowski were named First Team All-HCAC last season. 
Ephraim GuthrieEli McIntyre, and Chris Lian were named Honorable Mention All-HCAC.
* The team is led by Head Coach Matt Wilson in his third season at the helm of the tennis program.
* After hosting Transylvania, Rose-Hulman will travel to face Earlham in HCAC action on Saturday, April 11, at 2 PM. 

TRANSYLVANIA NOTES: 
* Transylvania stands at 4-7 overall this season and 2-1 in the HCAC. 
* The team comes off a loss to Earlham with a final score of 5-2. 
* Jacob Jiranek and Chris Kaufmann lead the team in the No. 1 doubles spot. 
* Kaufmann represents the team in No. 1 singles. 
* The team is led by Head Coach Bill Carey in his seventh season at Transylvania.
* After facing Rose-Hulman, Transylvania will travel to take on Hanover on Saturday, April 11, at 11 AM. 

TRANSYLVANIA SERIES HISTORY:
* Rose-Hulman leads the all-time series with the Pioneers with a record of 18-15 against Transylvania. 
* Rose has won their last three matches against Transy, dating back to the 2023-24 season. 
* The last time they lost to the Pioneers was during the 2023 season in the HCAC semifinals with a final score of 5-0. 
* The Fightin' Engineers have an all-time home record of 6-2 when hosting Transylvania.
