CARMEL, Ind. -- The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference has announced their weekly awards for the sport of softball. Aubrey Smith has been named the HCAC Pitcher of the Week for her outstanding performance over the Fightin' Engineers' Florida trip to start the 2026 season. 

Smith was exceptional in the circle for the Fightin' Engineers on their Florida trip. The mechanical engineering major totaled a record of 4-1 with wins over Houghton, Albright, Anna Maria, and New England.

She totaled 26 strikeouts in 33.0 innings with an ERA of 1.48. The Lebanon, Ohio native finished the week allowing only 22 hits and seven earned runs across five games. 

This is the second HCAC Athlete of the Week honor for Smith in her college career with the Fightin' Engineers. 

The Rose-Hulman softball team will return to action, hosting their home opener against Greenville on Saturday, March 21, at 1 PM and 3 PM.
