Antoine Cooper and Joshua Pohle Claim HCAC Athlete of the Week Awards

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference has announced its weekly award winners for the sport of men's track & field. Antoine Cooper has been named the HCAC Throws Athlete of the Week, and Joshua Pohle has earned HCAC Distance Athlete of the Week. 

Cooper led the throws team for the Fightin' Engineers at the Pacesetter Invite hosted by Indiana State. The senior mechanical engineering major recorded a second-place finish in the discus with a mark of 48.36 meters (158' 8"). His mark leads the conference this season, ranks 19th in the Great Lakes Region, and 24th in all of NCAA DIII. 

Pohle led the distance team for Rose-Hulman at the Oliver Nikloff Invitational hosted by the University of Cincinnati. The senior mechanical engineering major placed 11th in a competitive field in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 14:58.64. His time leads the HCAC and ranks seventh in the Great Lakes Region so far this season. 

This is the seventh HCAC Athlete of the Week award for Cooper and the third award for Pohle in their college careers with the Fightin' Engineers. 

The men's track & field team will return to action at the Indiana DIII Championships hosted by DePauw on Saturday, April 11. The team will also travel individuals to the Fast Break Athletics Invite hosted by Lee University on Friday, April 10.
