TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Rose-Hulman athletic department will be featuring multiple student-athletes across all of their varsity sports teams this summer in the Fightin' Engineers to Watch media campaign.
Men's cross country's Fightin' Engineer to Watch is
Will Boschen as he enters his senior season.
Boschen is coming off a stupendous junior year where he helped Rose-Hulman qualify for the NCAA Championships for just the third time in school history. He recorded an eighth-place finish at the HCAC Championships with a time of 26:44.32, earning All-HCAC First Team honors for the second consecutive season. At the NCAA Championships, Boschen recorded a 245
th-place finish as the Fightin' Engineers placed 29
th overall.
"Joining Rose-Hulman's cross country and track and field teams is the best decision I have made for my college experience," said Boschen. "The memories and friends I have made while being a part of this team will stick with me far after I graduate. Going into this upcoming season, my goal is to put together all the lessons I have learned these past three years, and help lead the team to back-to-back nationals appearances for the first time in school history."
The Irvine, California native has played a key role in Rose-Hulman securing back-to-back HCAC Championships, and he currently ranks 18
th in school history in the 8k with a time of 25:33. Boschen has also made an impact for the men's track and field team as he placed second in the 1500 at the 2026 HCAC Outdoor Championships with a time of 3:25.22.
Boschen is pursuing a degree in chemical engineering, and he is currently completing an internship with Solenis, where he works in water treatment across mines in Nevada. Alongside his internship, he has spent his summer getting together with his teammates and going on long runs, while also going on a group trip to Indiana's dunes.
There are multiple aspects that Boschen appreciates most about being a Rose-Hulman student-athlete. "It is very hard for me to list one specific thing that I like the most about being a student-athlete," said Boschen. "I enjoy the way it gives me an outlet to break away from studying, and I also enjoy traveling to new places that I would never travel to if I wasn't an athlete. Lastly, I enjoy the opportunity to meet new people and form lasting friendships."
The Fightin' Engineers will begin their quest for a second consecutive appearance at the NCAA Championships during the 2026 season. They will open their season at the Franklin Grizzly Invitational on Saturday, September 5 at 10 AM.
