Volleyball Falls to the Warriors to Begin Wisconsin Lutheran Invitational

MILWAUKEE, Wis. -- The Rose-Hulman women's volleyball team started their weekend facing Wisconsin Lutheran on Friday night. The Fightin' Engineers fell short to the Warriors after three sets with scores of 25-22, 25-16, and 25-22.

Greta Carlson led the team with 11 kills on the night. Kaia Schroeder followed her with six kills. Shae Clements was the defensive standout with a team-high 12 digs. Hannah Bergfeld was the star setter, totaling 17 assists.

Wisconsin Lutheran got off to a strong start, winning a tight first set 25-22. The Warriors carried that momentum into the second set to take a quick 2-0 lead.

In the third set, Rose-Hulman fought to avoid the shutout. After trailing 20-13, the Fightin' Engineers put together an 8-3 run to cut the deficit to 23-21. The Warriors were able to stunt the Fightin' Engineers' efforts, closing out the third set to complete the sweep.

The loss drops the Fightin' Engineers to 1-4 overall this season. The Rose-Hulman volleyball team will continue the Wisconsin Lutheran Invitational tomorrow, on Saturday, September 12, facing Wisconsin-Platteville and Millkin at 10 AM CT and 12 PM CT.
