TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman women's volleyball team will host Illinois Tech and Trine in their Cancer Research Tri-Match on Saturday, September 24, at 11 AM and 3 PM.

BAYLOR COLLEGE OF MEDICINE CANCER RESEARCH:
* The Rose-Hulman volleyball team has a tradition of partnering with Baylor College of Medicine for their Cancer Research Game each year. 
* The team will be hosting a bake sale and collecting donations during Saturday's matches.
* Head Coach Rachel Delsi has direct ties to the Baylor College of Medicine, as her mom was treated there following her cancer diagnosis, making a full recovery. 
* Over the years, the team has raised over $5,000 in support of cancer research. 

ROSE-HULMAN VOLLEYBALL NOTES:
* The Fightin' Engineers stand at 2-9 overall this season.
* Rose-Hulman comes off a competitive match against DePauw on Wednesday in their home opener, falling to the Tigers with a score of 3-1.
* Emma Blanton leads the team with 97 kills this season, averaging 2.37 kills per set.
* She is followed by Keira Ohse with 94 kills and 2.29 kills per set. 
* Julia Irmen is the team's top setter with 292 assists, averaging 8.59 assists per set.
* Aurora Schmidt has been the ace at the service line with a team-high 14 service aces this season.
* The team's top defender has been Shae Clements with 136 digs, averaging 3.49 digs per set. 
* Rose-Hulman has been picked to finish fifth in the HCAC Preseason Poll, earning 48 points.
* The team returns three of their All-HCAC honorees from last year, including Second Team All-HCAC and Newcomer of the Year Greta Carlson. 
* Other Second Team All-HCAC returners include Keira Ohse and Emma Blanton.
* The Fightin' Engineers are led by Head Coach Rachel Delsi in her ninth season at Rose-Hulman.
* After hosting their Cancer Tri-Match, Rose-Hulman will return to Hulbert Arena to host Mount St. Joseph on Saturday, October 3, for Homecoming at 11 AM.

ILLINOIS TECH VOLLEYBALL NOTES:
* Illinois Tech enters the weekend with a record of 7-5 overall this season. 
* The team comes off a loss to Aurora on Wednesday with a score of 3-0.
* Karla Trautmann Mendez leads the team with 122 kills this season, averaging 2.77 kills per set. 
* Payton Smith follows her with 97 kills, averaging 2.20 kills per set.
* Rowan Midgette is the team's top setter with 166 assists this year.
* Brooke Rifkin leads the defense with 153 digs, averaging 3.56 digs per set. 
* Rose-Hulman has an all-time record of 3-2 against Illinois Tech.
* The last time the teams faced off was during the 2022 season, with the Fightin' Engineers earning the win, 3-2.
* The team is led by Head Coach Mark Johnston in his eighth season with Illinois Tech.

TRINE VOLLEYBALL NOTES:
* Trine currently stands at 5-6 overall this season.
* The team will face the Puerto Rico-Rio Piedras on Friday, September 25, before traveling to Terre Haute to play the Fightin' Engineers.
* The Thunder come off a loss to Franklin on Wednesday night with a final score of 3-0. 
* Elli Baker is the team's top hitter with 130 kills this season, averaging 3.61 kills per set.
* Reese Steenwyk follows her with 80 kills and 2.11 kills per set.
* Cali Stevons is the Thunder's star setter with 196 assists on the year, averaging 5.03 assists per set.
* Jordan Budzinski leads the defense with 123 digs, averaging 3.24 digs per set.
* Rose-Hulman has an all-time record of 4-4 against the Thunder.
