N. MANCHESTER, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology hits the road for an in-state Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference men's basketball matchup at Manchester University on Saturday at 5 p.m.
The Fightin' Engineers (3-4, 1-1 HCAC) enter the contest after back-to-back wins over Transylvania and Millikin at Hulbert Arena. Junior Michael Hallstein scored a game-winning layup at the buzzer in a 67-66 win over Transylvania, and four players reached double figures in points to propel Rose-Hulman past Millikin 69-60 on Wednesday.
Senior Corey Povaleri continues to lead the team in scoring at 13.0 points per game, with junior Tyler Duffy also in double figures at 11.9. Junior Matt Loesing (8.6 ppg), junior Jimmy Miller (7.9 ppg) and sophomore Wade Stallings (4.9 ppg) round out the starting lineup. Sophomore Collin Wojcik leads the bench scoring performance at 8.0 points per game.
Manchester stands 2-5 overall and 1-1 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play. The Spartans feature four starters averaging double figures in scoring, led by Brady Dolezal at 14.1 points per game and Matt Brown at 13.9. The Spartans defeated Earlham 62-58 in their most recent game on Saturday.
Manchester leads the all-time series 23-22 over Rose-Hulman, but the Fightin' Engineers have a six-game series winning streak and lead the HCAC era series 10-6. After Saturday's game, Rose-Hulman hosts Blackburn College in a non-conference matchup on Thursday.
