TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology returns to Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference men's basketball schedule with a trip to Defiance College on Saturday at 3 p.m.
Rose-Hulman looks to win at the tail end of a three-game road trip, including an 87-75 loss to Anderson on Wednesday night. Sophomore Wade Stallings scored a career-high 21 points to lead the Fightin' Engineer offensive effort.
Senior Corey Povaleri continues to lead the Rose-Hulman offense at 10.6 points per game. Junior Matt Loesing averages 10.1 points per game, and junior Jimmy Miller is also in double figures at 10.0 points per contest.
Junior Tyler Duffy (9.3 ppg) and Stallings (5.7 ppg) round out the projected starting lineup. Sophomore Collin Wojcik leads the bench at 9.2 points per game. Junior Dillon Reynolds, junior Mitch Williams and senior Michael Hallstein have appeared in nearly every game off the bench.
Defiance has won three of its last four games to improve to 13-5 overall and 8-3 in HCAC play. The Yellow Jackets remained one game behind Mount St. Joseph for first place in the league standings after a 73-51 victory over Bluffton on Wednesday night.
Bernard Edwards leads a starting lineup featuring four seniors by averaging 20.8 points per game. Senior Travis Schomaeker averages 15.5 points per game, senior Mason Roth scores 9.8, and Michael Parker comes off the bench for 6.7 points per contest.
After Saturday's game, Rose-Hulman returns home to face in-state foe Earlham College on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
