Men's Basketball to Host Defiance in Hall of Fame Game

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology hosts Defiance in the annual Hall of Fame Game, with a day including the induction of former men's basketball coach Jim Shaw, on Saturday at Hulbert Arena.  The Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony takes place at 11:30 a.m. with all former men's basketball players invited.  The women's game starts Saturday's doubleheader at 1 p.m., followed by the men's game at 3 p.m.

ROSE-HULMAN NEWS & NOTES (0-5, 0-0 HCAC):
* Rose-Hulman stands 0-5 despite scoring 70.4 points per game so far this season. 
* The Fightin' Engineers have dropped their two most recent games by just a combined six points, 80-76 to Millikin and 68-66 to DePauw.
* Craig McGee has crossed the 20-point mark twice in the first five games of his career.  McGee scored 21 points at DePauw and added 20 points at Chicago.
* Ryuji Aoki scored 19 points in both games of the Chicago Midway Classic.  Aoki was 8-14 from the floor against Trinity and a perfect 8-8 on the foul line vs. Chicago.
* The last game starting lineup for Rose-Hulman featured Stephen Schueth (6.6 ppg), Michael Lake (1.0 ppg), Craig McGee (12.2 ppg), Luke Callahan (5.0 ppg) and John Czarnecki (10.6 ppg).

REMEMBERING JIM SHAW:
* Coach Shaw led the Fightin' Engineer men's basketball program to six NCAA Division III Tournament appearances, five regular season conference championships, four conference tournament titles and four 20-win seasons in his 20 years as men's basketball coach. 
* Shaw ranks No. 2 in school history in career wins (303) and winning percentage (.578) and was also a two-time conference Golf Coach of the Year. 
* Shaw coached 30 all-conference performers and led the team to an 82-29 record in his final three seasons as head coach. 
* Shaw, who passed away in 2015, also earned a National Association of Basketball Coaches Outstanding Service Award in 2015.

DEFIANCE NEWS & NOTES (2-3, 1-0 HCAC):
* Defiance stands 2-3 overall and picked up an early conference victory, defeating Manchester 79-75 on Monday.
* 5-9 freshman Davontae Kinnie (13.8 ppg) and 5-10 freshman Kiewuan Graham (11.4) are the leading scorers for Defiance so far this season.

SERIES HISTORY
* Rose-Hulman leads Defiance 14-12 in a series that began in 1994.  In HCAC play, Rose-Hulman leads 13-12 and has won the last three meetings.
