FRIDAY RECAP:
GREENCASTLE, Ind. -- No. 7 ranked DePauw University scored four runs in the second inning to gain an early lead before topping Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology 7-1 in college softball action on Friday afternoon.
Angela Boulboulle led the Rose-Hulman offense with a solo home run.Ā
Nicole Lang added a double, and
Ashley Pinkham and
Jessica Thuer each had singles for the Engineers.
Alyssa Pinkston tossed 3.2 scoreless innings in the pitching circle with one strikeout to lead the Rose-Hulman pitching performance.
Skylar Barnett led the DePauw offense with a home run and Kaylyn Linder was 2-2 with two RBIs.Ā Annika Garwood picked up the win, and Riley Magoon tossed three scoreless innings for the save.
DePauw improved to 17-3, while Rose-Hulman dropped to 5-6.Ā The Fightin' Engineers open Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play on Saturday at home against Bluffton.
