TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology softball team hosts Bluffton in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference softball opening doubleheader on Saturday at 1 pm.

Only limited and invited family members or specifically invited Rose-Hulman community members can attend home outdoor events in 2020-21.Ā  If you have not been directly contacted by a member of the team,Ā you will be refused entry into the game.Ā Ā Guests must fill out the campus visitorĀ Travel & Symptoms FormĀ 24 hours before attending an event.Ā Ā NOĀ visiting fans will be permitted andĀ NOĀ members of the general public will be permitted.

ROSE-HULMANĀ (5-6) GAME NOTES ENTERING THIS WEEKEND'S ACTION:
* Rose-HulmanĀ stands 5-6 overall entering this week's action that is highlighted by the HCAC opening doubleheader on Saturday.
* Nicole Lang leads the offense with a .346 batting average, 3 home runs, 7 runs scored and 12 RBIs.
* Reagan Knabe and Jessica Thuer are both batting .333. Knabe has 1 home run and Thuer is tied for team-high honors with 3 doubles.
* MaKenzie Morgan and Emily Struble have joined Thuer with 3 doubles this season.
* Mackenzie Hunt leads the pitching staff with a 2-0 record, a 3.23 ERA and 15 strikeouts in 17.1 innings of work.
* Emily Struble leads the current roster with career totals of 37 hits, 11 doubles and 109 pitching strikeouts in 162 innings of work.

FRIDAY RECAP:

GREENCASTLE, Ind. -- No. 7 ranked DePauw University scored four runs in the second inning to gain an early lead before topping Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology 7-1 in college softball action on Friday afternoon.

Angela Boulboulle led the Rose-Hulman offense with a solo home run.Ā  Nicole Lang added a double, and Ashley Pinkham and Jessica Thuer each had singles for the Engineers.

Alyssa Pinkston tossed 3.2 scoreless innings in the pitching circle with one strikeout to lead the Rose-Hulman pitching performance.

Skylar Barnett led the DePauw offense with a home run and Kaylyn Linder was 2-2 with two RBIs.Ā  Annika Garwood picked up the win, and Riley Magoon tossed three scoreless innings for the save.

DePauw improved to 17-3, while Rose-Hulman dropped to 5-6.Ā  The Fightin' Engineers open Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play on Saturday at home against Bluffton.
