Softball Hosts Webster for a Friday Matinee

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology softball team continues their busy week with a home doubleheader against Webster on Friday afternoon at 4 PM and 6 PM. The Fightin' Engineers will also host Mount St. Joseph on Saturday before visiting Fontbonne on Sunday.

ROSE-HULMAN GAME NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman comes into this weekend with a 6-14 record and 0-6 in the HCAC.
* The Fightin' Engineers have dropped eight straight games to Defiance, Spalding, Manchester, and Hanover.
* On Tuesday, Rose-Hulman fell in both games of the doubleheader with Hanover on a pair of walk-off hits in the 7th and 9th innings.
* Rose-Hulman enters the season with a 15-player roster under the direction of 21st-year head coach Brian Shearer.
* The Fightin' Engineers finished last season at 18-14 with their first winning season since 2015. 
* Rose-Hulman was picked to finish 7th in the HCAC this season, in a preseason poll of league coaches released in February.
* After hosting Webster, the Fightin' Engineers will continue their busy weekend with doubleheaders against Mount St. Joseph and Fontbonne.

WEBSTER NOTES:
* Webster comes into Friday's matchup at 5-14 and 3-1 in the SLIAC.
* The Gorloks have won four of their past five games beginning with the final game of their spring trip to Florida.
* Webster and Rose-Hulman have a pair of common opponents in Greenville and Blackburn.
* The Gorloks swept Blackburn with wins of 7-1 and 11-3. They split with Greenville with a 7-6 win and a 4-16 loss.
* Rose-Hulman also swept Blackburn with wins of 4-0 and 11-3. They also split with Greenville with a 7-5 win and a 1-9 loss.
* Jaelin Holdaway and Kaley Adzick lead Webster at the dish with batting averages of .441 and .422. Holdaway has an OPS just shy of 1.200 and 13 extra base hits on the season.
* The Gorloks are hitting .317 as a team and scoring over five runs per game.
* In the circle, Webster has started five different pitchers who all have very similar stats.
* Opponents are hitting .353 against the Gorloks who have a team ERA of 5.57 and a team WHIP of 2.12.
