SATURDAY 100-METER RESULTS

ROCHESTER, New York -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology junior Jailen Hobbs has earned All-American honors after a 4th place finish in the 100m Dash at the NCAA Division III National Championships. Hobbs is the first athlete in Rose-Hulman history to earn All-American honors in two different sports in their career after being named an All-American return specialist by D3Football earlier this fall.

Hobbs ran a time of 10.39 in the finals to once again break the Rose-Hulman school record and bring home 4th place in the 100m Dash. With his 4th place finish, Hobbs also becomes the highest finisher in Nationals for Rose-Hulman since Liz Evans won the High Jump National Championship in 2013.

On Friday evening, Hobbs ran a time of 10.50 second to finish third-place in his heat behind the top-seeded Sam Blaskowski of Wisconsin-La Crosse and 6th-seeded TJ Clayton of Rhodes College.

Hobbs is a 4-time HCAC Men's Sprinter of the Year.  He won the 2023 honor in both indoor and outdoor after setting five school records in the 60 meter and 200 meter in indoors and the 100 meter, 200 meter, and 4x100m relay in outdoors. The computer engineering major is also a 5-time USTFCCCA All-Region honoree including receiving the honor twice in the outdoor season in the 100 meter and 200 meter races.

Hobbs is the 57th All-American in track and field at Rose-Hulman. Hobbs is also the first Fightin' Engineer to win the award in a running event since Sutton Coleman in 2012 (110 Hurdles).

Additionally, he is just the second Rose-Hulman sprinter to become an All-American, joining Phil Reksel in 2000, and the first to be an All-American in the 100m Dash.
