TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- We are now just under three months away from the opening kickoff of the 2023 Rose-Hulman football season which means it is time to break down the schedule. The full schedule can be seen
HERE.
The season kicks off on September 2nd at 7 PM as the Fightin' Engineers will host the DePauw Tigers. This will be the first meeting between these two schools at Cook Stadium since the 2011 season. Though Rose-Hulman has not beaten the Tigers since 2003, each of the meetings over the last two years has been decided by less than a touchdown.
The Fightin' Engineers will take on a pair of MIAA schools in their remaining two non-conference meetings. Rose-Hulman will take on Trine for the third consecutive year in Angola on September 9. Then, they will travel North for the second straight week for a road game at Albion.
Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play kicks off on September 30 as the Fightin' Engineers will host the Anderson Ravens for a 2 PM kickoff as they celebrate Homecoming.Â
Other HCAC home games this season will include Bluffton on October 14, Hanover on October 28, and Mount St. Joseph on November 11. The Hanover game will be the Annual Hall of Fame game as the Fightin' Engineers will induct the new members of the 2023 Hall of Fame class. The Mount St. Joseph game will be the season finale and Senior Day for Rose-Hulman.
Rose-Hulman plays two teams that made the 2022 NCAA DIII Tournament this season. DePauw fell to Carnegie Mellon 45-14 in the opening round, and Mount St. Joseph fell to Alma 41-21 in the opening round.
Prior to the start of the season, Rose-Hulman will play one scrimmage on August 24 at Wabash College.
The Fightin' Engineers are looking to return to the NCAA Tournament as they did in 2021 thanks to their 13th all-time conference title.
We hope to see you all at Cook Stadium at 7 PM on September 2 as the Fightin' Engineers open their 2023 campaign.
