TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman football team has been busy this offseason making an impact in the local community. The Fightin' Engineers participated in the 2026 Polar Plunge to help raise money for the Special Olympics here in Terre Haute, Indiana.
The team outdid themselves, winning awards for most money raised by a team and team newcomers of the year. The team raised $7,057 for the Special Olympics, raising close to $1,500 more than the second-place team.
The Polar Plunge is the signature Special Olympics Indiana Fundraiser. Since its inception, more than 42,000 Hoosiers have taken the plunge, supporting Special Olympics athletes across Indiana. The Polar Plunge is considered the largest fundraising event benefiting the Special Olympics in the state.
Individuals and groups take the plunge, jumping into frigid and icy waters, soliciting donations from family and friends. The event is in its 26th year of existence and has proven to be a great opportunity to give back to the Terre Haute and Indiana community.
