TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- We are now closing in on four months away from the 2023-24 Rose-Hulman women's basketball season which means it is time to break down the schedule. The full schedule can be seen HERE.

The 2023-24 season tips off with the renewel of a rivalry as the Fightin' Engineers will host the Saint Mary-of-the-Woods Pomeroys for the Crosstown Classic. The Pomeroys lead the Crosstown Classic history 14-13 dating back to the 1995 season. This will be the first game in the series since 2019 after a four-year hiatus that started due to Covid-19. The full history of the Crossroads Classic can be seen HERE.

The Fightin' Engineers will also host three more non-conference games to start the season. Rose-Hulman will host the 2023 Midwest Challenge featuring four games over two days on November 25 and 26. Rose-Hulman will take on Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday at 2 PM with DePauw and Washington University in St. Louis playing at 4 PM. The Championship and Third-Place games will take place on Sunday. This will be the 30th rendition of the Midwest Challenge that dates back to 1993. The Fightin' Engineers joined the challenge in 2017. For the full Midwest Challenge history, click HERE.

Rose-Hulman will also host Elmhurst on December 16 for just the second meeting between these two teams since 1998.

The Fightin' Engineers will play three away games in the non-conference including a two-game trip to California. Rose-Hulman will battle La Verne on November 18 and Cal Tech on November 20 before returning home for Thanksgiving break. The Fightin' Engineers lost their only meeting with La Verne back in 2009, but they are 2-0 against Cal Tech with wins in 1997 and 2002.

Rose-Hulman's final non-conference game will be at Spalding on the final day of classes before Winter Break. The Fightin' Engineers are 2-0 all-time against the SLIAC foe with wins in 2006 and 2012.

Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play kicks off on November 29 as the Fightin' Engineers travel to Anderson for a 7:30 PM tip. Rose-Hulman will also travel to Bluffton on December 2 before hosting Mount St. Joseph and Hanover on December 9 and 13 to finish off the early part of conference action.

After the new year, the Fightin' Engineers will play seven more home games including Franklin (January 3), Transylvania (January 13), Manchester (January 17), Bluffton (January 20), Anderson (January 31), Defiance (February 3 for Senior Day), and Earlham (February 13).

The Fightin' Engineers could play three games against teams that made the 2023 NCAA DIII Tournament this season. Transylvania is the defending Division III National Champions, and they will come to Terre Haute on January 13. The Pioneers had wins over Rhodes, Millikin, Ohio Northern, New York University, Smith, and Christopher Newport to bring home the title. Washington University in St. Louis will be coming to the Midwest Challenge in Terre Haute this year. The Bears fell to Trine in the opening game of the tournament last season.

We hope to see you all at Hulbert Arena at 7:30 PM on November 7 as the Fightin' Engineers open their 2023 home campaign against the Saint Mary-of-the-Woods Pomeroys.
