TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology football team earned 16 all-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference selections this season with
Andrew Toler highlighting the group as he was named the HCAC Special Teams Player of the Year. It marks the fourth consecutive season that the Fightin' Engineers have earned the Special Teams Player of the Year award.

Casey McQueen were all named as Honorable Mention all-HCAC honorees.
Andrew Toler earned HCAC Special Teams Player of the Year for the first time and 1st-Team all-HCAC honors for the third consecutive season. He finished the season ranked 1st in Division III and 4th in all of divisions of the NCAA in yards per punt at 47.8 as he finished just one punt shy of qualifying for the all-time Division III record for yards per punt which currently sits at 46.2. He also hit 12 punts inside the 20-yard line and 17 punts over 50 yards including a 70-yard punt which is just the 8th 70+ yard punt in school history. The 2-time All-American punter broke the school record for yards per punt in a season by over two yards and currently holds three of the top-5 marks in school history, and he also broke the school record for career yards per punt with 41.5 in 175 punt attempts.
Daniel Huery was the top receiver for Rose-Hulman this season with 79 catches for 802 yards and 8 touchdowns. He broke Aaron Abbott's 2014 single-season school record for catches in a season with 79, and his 802 yards rank 10th in school history for a single-season. Huery also broke the career school record for catches with 269, and he finished 2nd in yards with 3,239 and 3rd in touchdowns with 33. The fifth year wide receiver also finished 6th in NCAA Division III in catches per game with 7.9 in 2024.
Jay Smith led the Fightin' Engineers backfield by breaking the Rod Schrader's 1983 single-season school record for rushing yards in a season with 1,297, and he also ran for the 3rd-most rushing touchdowns in a season with 16, the most since Carl "Rocky" Herakovich in 1958. He also broke Kyle Kovach's single-game rushing yards record with 252 and became the sixth different player to rush for 5 touchdowns in a game in the 52-10 win over Bluffton. Through his junior season, Smith ranks 13th in career rushing yards and 8th in career rushing touchdowns in Rose-Hulman history. Smith finished the season ranked top-12 in NCAA Division III in five different categories including 5th in rushing yards (1,297), 6th in rushing yards per game (129.7), 8th in rushing touchdowns (16), 10th in total touchdowns (18), and 12th in total points scored (108).
Dylan Page was the top offensive lineman on an impressive Rose-Hulman offensive this season which had Smith break the single-season rushing yards record. The senior offensive guard and offensive tackle started all 10 games for the Fightin' Engineers for an offensive that averaged 5.4 yards per play, the 11th most in a single-season in school history.Â
Ben Klein finished the season with 7 catches for 106 yards and a touchdown as he ranked 3rd on the team in yards per catch at 15.14. Klein also played a huge role blocking in the running game as he helped the Fightin' Engineers rush for over 130 yards per game on the season and helped Smith break the 41-year old single-season rushing record.
Kyle Rehberg was nearly perfect on the season going 8-9 on field goal attempts this season including a career-long 42 yard field goal fo the senior kicker. He also ranked 9th-best in school history by making 94.1% of his extra points which was a career-best mark going 32-34 on PAT attempts. His 88.9% field goal percentage ranked as the 4th-best in NCAA Division III and the 2nd-best in school history for a single-season. For his career, Rehberg finishes just 10 extra points shy of the school record with 118 and just 4 field goals shy of the school record with 25, ranking 2nd in both career categories.
Marshall Koch earned 1st-Team All-HCAC honors for the first-time in his career this season as he finished with 56 tackles, 6 tackles for loss, and a career-high 5.5 sacks. The junior linebacker also added a forced fumble and an interception which he returned for a touchdown in the win over Bluffton. Koch also tallied the second-most sacks in a single-game in school history with 3.5 in a win over Defiance earlier this year. He finished the season ranked second in the HCAC in sacks with 5.5.
Rose-Hulman brought home a third place in the HCAC with a 4-2 conference record and 5-5 record overall. The Fightin' Engineers also had a 14th consecutive season at .500 or above under the leadership of head coachÂ
Jeff Sokol, who has a career record of 89-48 (79-24 HCAC). His 89 wins rank 38th in all of Division III for wins among active head coaches. The 2025 season begins at Cook Stadium on Saturday Sept. 6 as the Fightin' Engineers host the DePauw University Tigers at 7 PM for their home opener.
