ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology softball team hit the road on Saturday and came up short in both games against Webster with final scores of 3-2 and 6-3.

In the first game of the day, Webster was able to take a two run lead in the bottom of the fourth. With the bases loaded in the fifth, Rose-Hulman got one runner across with Phoebe Worstell scoring to cut the lead in half 2-1.

Webster grew their lead with a home run in the fifth to make the score 3-1. Worstell tried to spark a comeback with a solo home run in the top of the seventh, but the Engineers were unable to retake the lead and would fall short in game one.

Aubrey Smith suffered the loss in the circle pitching all 6.0 innings with four strikeouts.

In the second game of the day, Rose-Hulman got on the board first after a single by Katelyn Sarvis brought in a run by Jessica Newsom. Webster jumped ahead scoring four unanswered runs through the fourth inning to make the score 4-1.

Smith hit a two run home run in the fifth inning to cut the deficit to 4-3, but the Gorloks would seal the win with a two run homer of their own in the sixth to claim the sweep over the Fightin' Engineers.

With the loss, Rose-Hulman falls to 8-6 on the season. They will conclude their four game weekend on Sunday at 1 PM CT and 3 PM CT as they travel to Eureka.
