TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman junior
Kade Kline has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Baseball Hitter of the Week, released by the league office on Monday afternoon.
Kline became the first player in Rose-Hulman history to hit for the cycle in Saturday's win over Houghton. He finished the game going 5-6 with a double in the first, triple in the second, home run in the fourth, and a single in the sixth to complete it. He also added a second triple later in the game to be just the 10th player in school history with two triples in a single game.
The junior mechanical engineering major finished the week leading the team with a .471 batting average and .545 on-base percentage with 6 runs, 8 RBIs, and 4 extra-base hits. He also finished the week with a ridiculous 1.486 OPS with four extra base hits.
This is the first Player of the Week award of the career for the Terre Haute, Indiana native.
Kline and the Rose-Hulman baseball team are off this week before returning to action with their home opener on March 15 as they host the Calvin Knights in the first game of a three-game series.
