TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology softball team will travel to take on Blackburn College on Thursday, April 11 at 3 PM CT and 5 PM CT.

ROSE-HULMAN GAME NOTES:
» The Fightin' Engineers stand at 13-9 overall this season and 2-2 in the HCAC. 
» Rose-Hulman comes off a split against HCAC opponent Earlham College after falling short in the first game 2-0, and winning the second game 2-1. 
» The team earned a split in their HCAC opener against Defiance College winning the first game 9-0 before falling in game two 2-1. 
» Rose-Hulman started their season with their spring trip to Florida finishing the week with a record of 6-4 overall.
» The Fightin' Engineers earned four wins against Grove City and two wins against Houghton on the trip.
» Rose-Hulman opens their 22nd consecutive season under head coach Brian Shearer as the Fightin' Engineers look to bounce back from a 7-24 season in 2023 that included a 1-14 record in the HCAC.
» Jessica Newsom leads the Fightin' Engineers with 32 hits, eight doubles, three home runs, a batting average of .395, a slugging percentage of .654, and an OPS of 1.078.
» Aubrey Smith has also been a standout at the plate leading the team with 16 RBIs and an on-base percentage of .425.
» Smith has been the ace in the circle with a team-high 52.0 innings pitched and 45 strikeouts.
» Phoebe Worstell has also made an impact in the circle with a team-leading 2.07 ERA totaling 47.1 innings pitched with 32 strikeouts. 
» Rose-Hulman was selected ninth overall in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference preseason poll. The Fightin' Engineers received 20 poll points. Phoebe Worstell, Katelyn Sarvis, Jadyn Winkler, and Smith were named Players to Watch.
» The Fightin' Engineers will return home to host Anderson University on Saturday, April 13 at 1 PM and 3 PM. 

BLACKBURN NOTES:
» The Beavers enter their doubleheader with Rose-Hulman with a record of 10-12 overall and 1-3 in the SLIAC.
» Before taking on Rose-Hulman, the will face Knox College on Wednesday, April 10 at 3 PM and 5 PM. 
» Zoe Mitchell leads the team with a .367 batting average totaling 22 hits with 19 runs scored.
» Mckenzie Smith has also been a strong batter for the Beavers with 22 hits and a team-high eight doubles this season.
» Shelby Koeing is the team's ace in the circle with 55.0 innings pitched and 54 strikeouts. 
» Taylor Girth has also been a strong performer in the circle with 54.1 innings pitched, 41 strikeouts, and a team-leading 4.12 ERA..
» After facing the Fightin' Engineers, Blackburn will hit the road to take on Fontbonne on Saturday, April 13 at 1 PM and 3 PM.

» Rose-Hulman leads the all-time series between both teams with a record of 15-5 overall against the Beavers. 
» The Fightin' Engineers hold a five-game winning streak against Blackburn dating back to the 2014 season.
