TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology baseball team rolled to a doubleheader sweep of the Earlham Quakers on Saturday after with 14-2 and 11-1 victories in seven innings.

Earlham jumped on the board early in the first game of the day with a pair of runs in the second inning, but that would be almost all of the offense they could muster throughout the day.

The Fightin' Engineers responded with a six-run inning in the bottom of the second thanks to a 3-run home run by Michael Stenger and RBI hits by Kade Kline, Peter Rogers, and Connor O'Connell.

Rose-Hulman extended to 8-2 with a bases loaded walk for Mark Serdinak in the fifth inning and a sacrifice fly for Peter Rogers following a Kade Kline double in the sixth.

In the seventh inning, the Fightin' Engineers scored two runs on an Earlham error and a bases loaded walk by Colter Couillard-Rodak. O'Connell then finished off the game with one of the hardest hit balls of the Rose-Hulman season as he took a 3-0 fastball off the net in right field for a walk-off grand slam and 14-2 victory.

Michael Yager finished the first game with a complete game, 7 innings pitched and 8 strikeouts while only allowing 2 runs on 4 hits.

In the second game, the Rose-Hulman bats picked up where they left off from game one with three runs in the first and five in the second to take an 8-0 lead through 2 innings of play. Couillard-Rodak added the third Rose-Hulman home run of the day with a three-run bomb in the first inning. Then, after an RBI groundout by Rogers, O'Connell added a two-run triple, and Busboom launched the fourth Rose-Hulman home run for an 8-0 lead.

The lead extended to 10 in the fourth to stretch it to 24 consecutive runs scored by the Fightin' Engineers after an RBI double by O'Connell and RBI single by Busboom.

After Earlham scored one in the sixth, Rose-Hulman hit their fifth home run of the game as Jackson Summers launched a 3-1 pitch over the left field fence to walk it off with an 11-1 victory for the Fightin' Engineers.

Ian Kline went 6 innings of one run baseball, and his one run given up in the sixth inning snapped a 13 consecutive shutout inning streak over the last two games. He would finish three strikeouts and just 1 run and 5 hits allowed on the day. Brad Nardi added a shutout inning in relief to seal the win.

The Fightin' Engineers pick up their fourth and fifth HCAC wins in a row and improve to 16-11 overall and 8-4 in the HCAC. Rose-Hulman returns to action on Sunday afternoon as they travel to Greencastle to take on the DePauw Tigers at 12 PM.
