Baseball Set to Face Earlham and DePauw This Weekend

GAME NOTES

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology baseball team will play three games over the weekend with an HCAC doubleheader at home against Earlham College on Saturday, April 13 at 12 PM and 3 PM before heading to Greencastle to take on DePauw in a single game on Sunday, April 14 at 12 PM.

ROSE-HULMAN GAME NOTES:
» Rose-Hulman stands at 14-11 overall and 6-4 in the HCAC heading into the weekend.
» The team comes off a close loss to Wash U with a final score of 4-3.
» Before that, the Fightin' Engineers completed a weekend sweep over Bluffton winning three straight games with scores of 14-3, 6-0, and 14-11.
» Peter Rogers had an outstanding weekend against the Beavers being named HCAC Hitter of the Week and D3baseball.com Team of the Week for his performance.
» Rogers was lights out all weekend finishing 9-15 at the plate with seven runs scored, two doubles, two home runs, and 11 RBIs.
» In the first game against Bluffton, Rogers became the fifth player in Rose-Hulman history to record seven or more RBIs in a single game.
» The Fightin' Engineers have been picked to finish fourth in the conference receiving 62 points in the league's preseason poll.
» Rose-Hulman leads the conference and ranks fifth in the nation with 28 double plays this season. 
» The team also ranks seventh in the nation in double plays per game with 1.12.
» Kade Kline leads the team with 36 hits, 33 runs scored, and 25 RBIs this season. 
» Earlier this season, Kline was the first player to hit for the cycle in school history in the Fightin' Engineers' last win of the Florida trip against Houghton.
» Michael Stenger has been another standout at the plate leading the team with a .385 batting average, .692 slugging percentage, and .467 on-base percentage. 
» Michael Yager leads the Fightin' Engineers on the mound with 35.0 innings pitched and 30 strikeouts. 
» Jonathan Oliger has been the team's star reliever with a team-high 2.16 ERA and three saves.
» The Fightin' Engineers will return home to host Webster University on Wednesday, April 17 at 6 PM. 

EARLHAM NOTES:
» Earlham enters the doubleheader with the Fightin' Engineers with a record of 10-12 overall and 4-6 in the HCAC. 
» The team comes off a three-game series against Manchester winning the first two games 3-1 and 9-1, before falling in the third game with a score of 7-2. 
» Sean Jeffries leads the team with 31 hits, 11 doubles, two triples, and nine stolen bases this season. 
» Max Fries is another standout at the plate with a team-high .366 batting average, 32 runs scored .732 slugging percentage, and six home runs. 
» Hayden Scalf leads the team on the mound with 41.1 innings pitched totaling 32 strikeouts. 
» The Quakers will return home to face Principia College on Monday, April 15 at 1 PM and 4 PM. 

DEPAUW NOTES:
» DePauw enters the match up with Rose-Hulman with a record of 12-9 overall and 3-1 in the NCAC.
» The team comes off a split of their doubleheader against Wabash College falling in the first game 8-1, before winning game two 8-0. 
» Before facing the Fightin' Engineers, DePauw will host Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday, April 13 at 12 PM and 3 PM. 
» Grady Johnson leads the team at the plate with 30 hits, a .361 batting average, and 17 runs scored.
» Danny Glimco is another strong batter for the Tigers with a team-high 19 RIs, and eight doubles on the season. 
» Michael Vallone leads the team on the mound with 30.1 innings pitched and 43 strikeouts. 
» After playing Rose-Hulman, the Tigers will travel to take on Denison on Wednesday, April 17 at 12 PM and 3 PM. 

EARLHAM SERIES HISTORY:
» Rose-Hulman leads the series between both teams with a record of 24-19 overall against the Quakers.
» The teams split their doubleheader last season with Earlham winning game one 7-3, and Rose-Hulman winning game two 16-9.
