TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology softball team will host Franklin College in HCAC play on Wednesday, April 24 at 5:30 PM and 7:30 PM for Faculty & Staff Appreciation Day.
ROSE-HULMAN GAME NOTES:
» The Fightin' Engineers enter their doubleheader against Franklin with a record of 20-10 overall and 7-3 in the HCAC.Â
» The team comes off a productive weekend picking up a doubleheader sweep over Bluffton with finals cores of 8-1 and 6-1.Â
» Rose-Hulman has won eight of their last nine games with their only loss coming against Manchester in extra innings with a final score of 4-3.

Aubrey Smith had an exceptional performance in the first game against the Bluffton Beavers pitching a complete game one-hitter with three strikeouts.Â
» Rose-Hulman leads the conference and ranks 55th in the nation with six shutouts this season.Â

Jessica Newsom leads the Fightin' Engineers with a .387 batting average, 43 hits, 31 runs scored, five home runs, and a .649 slugging percentage.
» Smith has also been able to make an impact at the plate with a .351 batting average, 21 runs scored, 34 hits, and a team-high 23 RBIs.
» Smith has been the ace in the circle with a 2.07 ERA pitching 74.1 innings with 55 strikeouts.Â

Phoebe Worstell has also been a weapon for the Fightin' Engineers in the circle with a 2.11 ERA, 69.2 innings pitched, and 48 strikeouts.
» Rose-Hulman was selected ninth overall in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference preseason poll. The Fightin' Engineers received 20 poll points.Â

» Franklin enters the mid-week match up with a record of 21-9 overall and undefeated 10-0 record in the HCAC this season.Â
» The team comes off two losses to the University of Chicago with final scores of 11-3 and 10-6.
» Eriana Wagner leads the team at the plate with a .476 batting average, 50 hits, 42 runs scored, 10 home runs, an OPS of 1.412, a slugging percentage of .867, and an on-base percentage of .545.
» Molly Wallace has also been a strong hitter for the Grizzlies with a .404 batting average, 42 hits, 27 runs scored and 22 RBIs.
» Duncan Lauren is the team's ace in the circle with 82.0 innings pitched and 41 strikeouts.
» Stephanni Kleber is the other starting pitcher for Franklin with 81.1 innings pitched and 32 strikeouts. Â
» After facing Rose-Hulman, Franklin will host Bluffton on Saturday, April 27 at 1 PM and 3 PM.Â
