TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology softball team is set to host Hanover College on Wednesday, May 1 at 5:30 PM and 7:30 PM. 

ROSE-HULMAN GAME NOTES:
» The Fightin' Engineers stand at 20-14 overall and 7-7 in the HCAC so far this season.
» The team has lost their last four games falling to Franklin on Wednesday 8-0, 8-0, and Mount St. Joseph on Saturday 7-0, 5-1.
» Rose-Hulman was selected ninth overall in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference preseason poll. The Fightin' Engineers received 20 poll points. Phoebe Worstell, Katelyn Sarvis, Jadyn Winkler, and Smith were named Players to Watch.
» The team currently stands in a tie for fourth place in the HCAC standings with Manchester at 7-7. They stand behind Franklin, Transylvania, and Mount St. Joseph. 
» The Fightin' Engineers can clinch their spot in the HCAC Tournament with a sweep over Hanover on Wednesday. 
» Rose-Hulman ranks second in the conference and ranks 75 th in the nation with six shutouts this season. 
» Jessica Newsom leads the Fightin' Engineers with a .395 batting average, 45 hits, 31 runs scored, five home runs, a .430 on-base percentage, and a .649 slugging percentage.
» Aubrey Smith has also been able to make an impact at the plate with a .318 batting average, 21 runs scored, 34 hits, and a team-high 23 RBIs.
» Smith has been the ace in the circle with a 2.81 ERA pitching 79.2 innings with 59 strikeouts. 
» Phoebe Worstell has also been a weapon for the Fightin' Engineers in the circle with a 2.61 ERA, 77.2 innings pitched, and 50 strikeouts.
» The Fightin' Engineers will return to action hosting Spalding on Thursday, May 2 at 5:30 PM and 7:30 PM. After that, the team will host Transylvania for Senior Day on Saturday, May 4 at 1 PM and 3 PM. 

HANOVER NOTES:
» Hanover enters the contest against the Fightin' Engineers with a record of 10-24 overall and 5-9 in the HCAC.
» The team comes off a doubleheader sweep over Anderson with final scores of 3-1 and 8-1.
» Lauren Beaman leads the team with a .379 batting average, 36 hits, 20 RBIs, and a .478 on-base percentage.
» Beaman is also the team's leading pitcher with a 4.82 ERA, 117.2 innings pitched, and 59 strikeouts.
» The Panthers are on the outside looking in ranking 8th in the conference standings. 
» After facing Rose-Hulman, the Panthers will wrap up their regular season traveling to face Bluffton on Saturday, May 4 at 3 PM and 5 PM.
