Fightin' Engineers Place 12th in Biggest Meet of the Season

SANDESTIN, Fla. – Rose-Hulman competed in their biggest meet of the season at the Golfweek October Classic. The Fightin' Engineers recorded a 16th-place finish on day one, and they improved to 9th place on day two. RHIT would then conclude the meet with a 12th-place overall finish out of 24 teams on day three, recording an 877 (+25) score.
 
Junior Austin Frick recorded a 12th-place finish for the Fightin' Engineers, where he recorded scores of 71 (E) on all three rounds. During Frick's 213 (E) score-performance, he hit nine total birdies, with four coming in round two.
 
Senior Ryan Beerheide put together a 15th-place finish with a 215 (+2) score. Beerheide opened the meet, hitting five over par on day one, and he would improve to hit two under par on day two, and one under par on day three. Across the final two rounds, Beerheide accumulated five birdies, with four coming on round two.
 
Sophomore Nate Benson added a 51st-place finish with a score of 222 (+9). Benson finished the competition with seven birdies, highlighted by a five-birdie performance on the back nine of round three.
 
Senior Owen King came in 83rd place, recording a score of 227 (+14). King hit four total birdies throughout the meet, hitting two in round one and another two in round two.
 
Senior Aditya Reddy placed 117th overall with a score of 253 (+40). Reddy hit five total birdies, which included consecutive birdies on the back nine of round three.
 
Mary Hardin-Baylor placed first overall with a team score of 847 (-5). Wittenberg recorded a second-place finish with an 851 (-1) score, while Transylvania rounded out the top three with a score of 860 (+8).
 
Rose-Hulman will conclude the fall season at the HCAC Preview in Richmond, Ky. The two-day competition will take place on Saturday, October 18, through Sunday, October 19.
