TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Rose-Hulman has swept the HCAC Player of the Week Awards, following a dominant 2-0 week. The Fightin' Engineers opened the week with a 2-0 win over Anderson and followed that up by taking down Bluffton 4-0 on Senior Day. With the victories, Rose-Hulman improved to the #2-seed in the HCAC, with a 6-1-1 conference record.
HCAC Offensive Player of the Week
Sydnee Schuler was awarded the HCAC Offensive Player of the Week award for the first time in her career.
In Rose's victory over Anderson, Schuler scored the final goal in the 55
th-minute to secure the win over the #1-seed. She finished the match by recording a game-high four shots.
Schuler followed up that performance with both a goal and an assist against Bluffton. She scored a 17
th-minute goal and recorded an assist 14 minutes later to extend Rose-Hulman's lead to three. She would attempt four shots once again, recording a game-high three shots on goal.
The Bloomington, Ill. native has now scored three goals this season, and she leads Rose-Hulman with six assists. Schuler has recorded an assist in five of the past eight games, and her six assists on the year currently rank third in the HCAC.
HCAC Defensive Player of the Week
Camille Clark has been awarded the HCAC Defensive Player of the Week award for the first time in her career.
Clark helped lead Rose-Hulman to two shutout wins, where the Fightin' Engineers' defense allowed just three shots on goal against Anderson and one shot on goal against Bluffton.
Clark thrived on both ends of the field, as she assisted on Schuler's 55
th-minute goal against Anderson.
Clark would add her first goal of the season on her Senior Day against Bluffton, as she kicked in the opening goal in the 14
th minute.
The Plainfield, Ind. native played all 90 minutes of both matches, which she has done over the past seven consecutive games.
Schuler and Clark will look to end the regular season on a high note as the Fightin' Engineers face Manchester on Tuesday, October 28, at 7 PM. With a win, Rose-Hulman will clinch the #2-seed in the HCAC and secure a first-round bye in the HCAC Playoffs.
