CARMEL, Ind. -- The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference has announced its weekly award winners for the sport of men's swimming and diving. Rose-Hulman has swept the awards for the second week in a row, with
Parker Siddons earning Diver of the Week and
Carter Kirtz claiming Swimmer of the Week.
Both Siddons and Kirtz led the Fightin' Engineers in their narrow dual meet loss to Wabash on Friday night, with a final score of 174-124.
Siddons claimed two event wins in the diving competition. The biomedical engineering major from Plainfield, Indiana, placed first in both the 1-meter (220.05) and 3-meter (175.00) diving competitions.
Kirtz made an impact in the pool with two event wins. The mechanical engineering major from Center Point, Iowa, picked up wins in the 100 breaststroke (59.21) and the 200 breaststroke (2:11.51).
This is the second award in a row for Siddons this season and the 13th HCAC Diver of the Week award of his career. Kirtz claims the award for the first time this season, bringing his career total to three Swimmer of the Week awards.
The Rose-Hulman men's swimming and diving team will return home to host Anderson on Friday, November 7, at 6 PM.
