Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field Hosts Home Opener Saturday

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman men's and women's indoor track & field teams will start their 2025-26 season in their home opener, hosting the Fightin' Engineers Invitational on Saturday, December 6, at 11 AM. 

ROSE-HULMAN MEN'S NOTES:
* The Fightin' Engineers were picked as the favorites to win the HCAC title in the HCAC Preseason Poll, earning 80 points and eight first-place votes. 
* Rose-Hulman has won the indoor track & field title for the past three seasons.
* The team has accumulated a total of 14 HCAC indoor titles over the last 15 years.
* During last year's indoor meet, Rose-Hulman was named co-champions with Manchester. 
* Rose-Hulman returns two event champions from last year's campaign, including Kolton Nanko in the pole vault and James Kaunas in the triple jump.
* The team also returns star thrower Antoine Cooper, who finished third in the weight throw in last year's championship. 
* The Fightin' Engineers are led by Head Coach Shane Mills in his second season with the team. 
* Coach Mills and his staff were named HCAC Coaching Staff of the Year during the 2024-25 HCAC Indoor Championships. 
* After hosting the Fightin' Engineers Invite, Rose-Hulman will travel to compete in the John Gartland Invitational hosted by Indiana State on Friday, December 12. 

ROSE-HULMAN WOMEN'S NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman has been picked as the favorite to win the HCAC title in the HCAC Preseason Poll, totaling 81 points and nine first-place votes. 
* The Fightin' Engineers earned a second-place finish in last year's HCAC Indoor Championships, falling to Berea by 10 points. 
* The team totaled five event champions in the conference meet and 12 top-three finishes. 
* Rose Talbert is a key returner for the Fightin' Engineers after winning the 400-meter dash last season.
* Narindwa Semakula is another key returner after winning the 60-meter hurdles. 
* Other event winners included Jocelyn Onstot in the mile, Irene Lema Madueno in the pole vault, and the team of Alex Adams, Iliana Hernandez, Semakula, and Talbert winning the 4x200-meter relay. 
* The team is led by Head Coach Shane Mills in his second season with the team. 
* After hosting the Fightin' Engineers Invite, Rose-Hulman will travel to compete in the John Gartland Invitational hosted by Indiana State on Friday, December 12.
