CARMEL, Ind. -- The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference has announced its weekly award winners for the sport of men's track & field. Antoine Cooper has been named the HCAC Throws Athlete of the Week, and Andrew Shields was named the HCAC Sprint/Hurdles Athlete of the Week.

Cooper highlighted the Rose-Hulman individuals competing in the Sycamore Open this past weekend. The junior mechanical engineering major earned a seventh-place finish in the discus with a mark of 51.61 meters (169' 4.0"). His mark ranks 13th in all of NCAA Division III and is second in the school record book. His mark solidifies his spot at the national meet next week.

Shields had an impressive performance against some tough competition at the Sycamore Open hosted by Indiana State. The sophomore mechanical engineering major ran a PR in the 400-meter dash, earning fourth place with a time of 48.46.

This is Cooper's fourth HCAC Athlete of the Week Award, and Shields' second time receiving the honor from the HCAC in their college careers.

Cooper will compete in the NCAA Division III Track & Field Championships from Thursday, May 22, to Saturday, May 24, in Geneva, Ohio.
