TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology softball team has won four-straight games against conference opponents and will continue HCAC play, traveling to face Franklin on Wednesday, April 16, at 3:30 PM and 5:30 PM.
ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman stands at 10-8 overall and 4-2 in the HCAC this season
* The team comes off an outstanding weekend, picking up doubleheader sweeps over Bluffton and Berea in conference play.

Jessica Newsom has been the standout at the plate, leading the team with 27 hits, 16 runs scored, eight doubles, and four stolen bases this season.

Aubrey Smith has also been a productive hitter, leading the team with a .444 batting average, a 1.327 OPS, eight doubles, three home runs, and 24 RBIs.
*
Phoebe Worstell leads the team in the circle with 38.0 innings pitched, 42 strikeouts, and a team-best 2.95 ERA.
* The Fightin' Engineers have been picked to finish seventh in the HCAC preseason poll, receiving 34 points.
* The team finished last year with a record of 21-19 overall and 8-10 in the HCAC.
* Last season is just the second 20-win season for the Fightin' Engineers in the past 16 years.

FRANKLIN NOTES:
* Franklin enters the game with a record of 11-8 overall and 1-5 in HCAC play.
* The Grizzlies come off a doubleheader split with Manchester, losing the first game 12-10, and winning the second 8-0.
* Molly Wallace leads the team at the plate with a .382 batting average, totaling 26 hits, 12 runs scored, five doubles, and 16 RBIs.
* Eriana Wagner is another standout with a .381 batting average, a 1.029 OPS, 24 hits, 21 runs scored, five doubles, and nine RBIs.
* Zoey Kugelman leads the team in the circle with 53.1 innings pitched, 25 strikeouts, and a team-best 2.76 ERA.
* Franklin has been selected to finish second in the HCAC preseason poll with 70 points and two first-place votes.
* After hosting Rose-Hulman, Franklin will continue conference play, hosting Anderson on Saturday, April 19, at 1 PM and 3 PM.

* Both teams are tied in the all-time series between both programs with a record of 22-22 when facing off.
