TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Senior
Owen King has started the 2025-26 season by being named HCAC Athlete of the Week.
The Fightin' Engineers competed in the Transylvania Invite, where they recorded a third-place finish as a team. King led the way for RHIT as he placed third overall amongst 96 golfers, recording a 216 (E) score across three rounds.
In the opening round, King posted a 73 (+1) score, where he recorded four birdies, with three coming on the front nine.
He recorded his best performance in the second round, hitting a 71 (-1) score with three birdies.
King closed out the competition with a 72 (E) score on the final round, with four total birdies, including two that came back-to-back in holes four and five.
King and the Fightin' Engineers will continue their season in Tunica, Miss. For the Rhodes Fall Invitational. The meet will take place from Sunday, September 21, through Monday, September 22, at a time that is yet to be determined.
