TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman men's track & field team earned a second-place finish in the second installment of the Friday Night Spikes Series. Rose-Hulman earned a team score of 147.5, finishing behind WashU with a team score of 190.
The team finished with six event wins and 11 top-three finishes in the meet.
Andrew Shields dominated the track events, picking up two event wins in the 400-meter dash (50.80) and the 200-meter dash (22.76).
Chase Collins led the distance team with a first-place finish in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 8:58.29.
In the field events,
Grant Subbert picked up an event win in the weight throw with a mark of 16.43 meters (53' 11.0"). Other event winners included
Joe Jansen in the high jump, clearing a height of 1.86 meters (6' 1.25"), and
James Kaunas winning the triple jump with a mark of 13.10 meters (42' 11.75").
The Rose-Hulman men's track & field team will return to action, hosting the Rose-Hulman Classic on Saturday, January 31, at 3 PM.
