TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Rose-Hulman men's and women's track & field team will compete this week in the Rose-Hulman Classic on Saturday, January 31, at 3 PM. The men's team will also be traveling four student-athletes to compete in the 3,000-meter run at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational on Friday, January 30, in Louisville, Kentucky.
 
ROSE-HULMAN MEN'S TRACK & FIELD NOTES:
* The individuals who will compete in the PNC Lenny Lyles Invite include Sam Rinker, Joshua Pohle, Eduardo del Rosal, and Chase Collins. 
* As a team, Rose-Hulman has placed first in two meets this season. 
* The team comes off a second-place finish at the Friday Night Spikes #2 meet. 
* The Fightin' Engineers totaled six event wins and 11 top-three finishes in the meet. 
* Andrew Shields was named the HCAC Sprint Athlete of the Week after winning the 400-meter dash (50.80) and the 200-meter dash (22.76).
* Grant Subbert led the throwers with an event win in the weight throw with a mark of 16.43 meters (53' 11.0").
* Joe Jansen also had an impressive performance, winning the high jump after clearing a height of 1.86 meters (6' 1.25").
* James Kaunas was the other event winner with a first-place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 13.10 meters (42' 11.75")
* Rose-Hulman has been selected to finish first in the HCAC Preseason Poll, earning 80 points and eight first-place votes. 
* The team is led by Head Coach Shane Mills in his second season with the Fightin' Engineers.
* After competing in the Rose-Hulman Classic, the team will travel to compete in the Fairgrounds Invite on Friday, February 6, and Saturday, February 7.
 
ROSE-HULMAN WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD NOTES:
* The Fightin' Engineers have earned three second-place finishes during the indoor season. 
* Rose-Hulman comes off a runner-up finish at the Friday Night Spikes #2 meet.
* The team finished with three event wins and 11 top-three finishes. 
* Jocelyn Onstot highlighted the meet with an incredible finish in the mile, winning the race in a time of 5:02.82.
* Her time is a new personal best in the event and ranks second in the Rose-Hulman school record books. 
* Alex Adams was another standout with an event win in the 200-meter dash (26.99) and a second-place finish in the 60-meter dash (7.96).
* Rose Talbert was the other event winner with a first-place finish in the 400-meter dash with a time of 59.65.
* Rose-Hulman was picked to finish first in the HCAC Preseason Poll, earning 81 points and nine first-place votes. 
* The team is led by Head Coach Shane Mills in his second season with the Fightin' Engineers.
* After competing in the Rose-Hulman Classic, the team will travel to compete in the Fairgrounds Invite on Friday, February 6, and Saturday, February 7.
