TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman softball team will begin their 2026 season with their Florida trip in the first week of March. The team will play 10 games across the entire week at the Space Coast Complex in Melbourne, Florida.
ROSE-HULMAN SOFTBALL NOTES:
* The Rose-Hulman softball team has been selected to finish sixth in the HCAC Preseason Poll, earning 44 points.
* The Fightin' Engineers finished last season with a record of 19-16 overall and a conference record of 10-8.
* The team made their first appearance in the HCAC Tournament in 17 years since the 2008 season.
* Rose entered the tournament as the sixth seed and won their first game against Earlham with a score of 6-2.
* The Fightin' Engineers fell short in their second game to MSJ after nine innings with a score of 2-1, and were eliminated from the tournament after a loss to Franklin, 6-4.
* The team returns First Team All-HCAC honoree
Jessica Newsom for her junior season.
* Rose-Hulman also returns
Kayla Schnippel and
Aubrey Smith, who earned Second Team All-HCAC last season.
* The team is led by Head Coach
Brian Shearer in is 24th season with the Fightin' Engineers softball program.
* After their Florida trip, Rose-Hulman will return home to take on Kalamazoo in a doubleheader on Sunday, March 8, at 1 PM and 3 PM.
