INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Junior
Andrew Shields competed at the Fairgrounds Invitational, where he recorded a fifth-place finish in the 400m dash.
Shields recorded his career-best time of 49.03. This ranks as the third-best time in program history and the best result since 1998 when Phil Reksel completed the 400m in 48.38 and 48.84.
Shields finished above ten Division I athletes in the 400m, and he was the lone Division III runner out of 22 athletes.
He will look to achieve similar success tomorrow as Rose-Hulman takes on the Keck Select at 10:45 AM in Bloomington, Ill.
