TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman softball team returns home, hosting Greenville in their home opener on Saturday, March 21, at 1 PM and 3 PM.
ROSE-HULMAN SOFTBALL NOTES:
* The Fightin' Engineers enter the weekend with a 5-5 overall record this season.
* The team started the year with their trip to Florida, picking up wins over Houghton, Baruch, Albright, Anna Maria, and New England.Â

Aubrey Smith was named HCAC Pitcher of the Week following the Florida Trip.
* Smith leads the team in the circle with a record of 4-1 overall with 26 strikeouts and a 1.48 ERA.

Kayla Schnippel leads the team at the plate with a .424 batting average, totaling 14 hits, three runs, and four RBIs.Â

Abigale Shearer is a standout freshman for the Fightin' Engineers with a .385 batting average, totaling 10 hits, four runs scored, and 6 RBIs.Â
* Shearer also leads the team with a .615 slugging percentage and a .515 on-base percentage.
* The Rose-Hulman softball team has been selected to finish sixth in the HCAC Preseason Poll, earning 44 points.Â

GREENVILLE SOFTBALL NOTES:
* The Greenville Panthers enter the weekend with a record of 11-3 overall.Â
* The team has won its last four games, most recently defeating Grinnell with a final score of 4-3.
* Rylee Bloomer leads the team with a .413 batting average with 19 hits, 13 runs scored, and seven RBIs on the year.Â
* Ashlyn Colvis is another productive hitter for Greenville with a .400 batting average, totaling 18 hits, seven runs scored, and a team-high 15 RBIs.
* Sarah Salas is the team's top pitcher with 37.0 innings pitched and a 2.46 ERA with 32 strikeouts.Â
* The team is led by Ivan Estevez in his fourth season with the Panthers.Â
* After facing Rose-Hulman, Greenville will host Illinois College on Tuesday, March 24, at 2 PM and 4 PM.
