TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman athletic department is excited to announce the hiring of Kevin Krutsch as the new full-time assistant coach of the men's and women's track & field teams. 

Krutsch has been a part-time coach for the Fightin' Engineers since the 2025 season. In the past two years, he has been a part of four HCAC Championship teams, including the men's and women's indoor and outdoor titles in 2025 and 2026. He was also a member of the 2025 HCAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field Coaching Staff of the Year.

Krutsch has been a vital part of the coaching staff these past few seasons, leading multiple student-athletes to record-breaking performances. Athletes who have had success under Krutsch's leadership include Irene Lema Madueno, breaking the indoor school record in the women's pole vault, and Kolton Nanko, breaking the indoor HCAC all-time meet record in the men's pole vault.

The Rose-Hulman Track & Field program has a historic tradition of success, and I plan to build upon this standard of excellence," stated Krutsch.

Before Rose-Hulman, Krutsch worked as an instructor for the kinesiology, recreation, and sport department, teaching various courses related to physical education since August 2023. He was an intern for the Indiana State Pole Vault and Horizontal Jumps Coach Jeff Martin in 2023, and an intern with the Rose-Hulman track & field program under former Head Coach Larry Cole and Assistant Coach Liz Evans. 

Krutsch was a standout student-athlete on the men's track & field team at Indiana State, where he completed his bachelor's degree in sports management in 2023 and his master's degree in sports management in 2025. He is currently pursuing a master's degree in business administration, expecting to graduate in May of 2026.

During his time with the Sycamores, Krutsch competed in the high jump, clearing a personal best height of 2.15 meters (7' 0.5"). In the high jump, Krutsch was a four-time Missouri Valley Conference champion, a three-time Missouri Valley Conference runner-up, and a three-time NCAA Division I regional qualifier. He was also a member of six MVC team titles with Indiana State.
